Who we're looking for

Practitioners, engineers, technicians, business owners and specialists who can explain how things really work — the numbers, the mistakes, the trade-offs and the steps. If your article would help a reader make a better decision or do a job right the first time, it's a good fit.

Topics we'd love to see

  • Field case notes on recoating aging silicone or acrylic roof systems
  • Moisture mitigation primers for high-RH slabs: selection and testing
  • Electronic leak detection on plaza decks and green roofs
  • Specifying traffic-bearing membranes for parking structures in freeze-thaw climates
  • Waterproofing details at curtain wall and storefront sill transitions
  • Interior drainage vs exterior excavation for basement leak repair
  • Plural-component spray equipment setup for consistent polyurea quality
  • Lining fountains, splash pads and decorative water features
  • Balcony inspection programs for multifamily buildings
  • Crystalline and cementitious waterproofing for tanks and pits

Not on the list? Pitch it anyway if it fits one of our categories: Roof Waterproofing, Below-Grade Waterproofing, Decks and Structures, Ponds and Water Features, Testing and Detailing.

Submission guidelines

  • 100% original and not published anywhere else (including your own site). We check.
  • At least 1,000 words, with clear H2/H3 sections, practical steps and specific numbers where they matter.
  • Facts backed by credible sources — standards bodies, government agencies, manufacturer documentation or peer-reviewed research — linked in the text.
  • No spun, scraped or mass-produced machine-generated text. Write from experience; we can tell.
  • Up to 1–2 contextual links that genuinely help the reader. No link lists, exact-match anchor stuffing or links to unrelated, adult, gambling or deceptive sites.
  • Images only if you own the rights or have permission to use them; include a caption and source.
  • A 1–2 sentence author bio describing your real experience.

Sponsored posts and paid placements

We accept a limited number of sponsored articles from brands that are relevant to our readers. Sponsored content must meet the same quality bar as everything else we publish. It is clearly labeled Sponsored, and every paid link carries rel="sponsored" in line with Google's guidelines — this protects our readers and keeps both your brand and our site in good standing. We do not sell "dofollow" links. Rates are available on request.

How the process works

  1. Pitch. Send a working title, a 3–5 point outline and a line about your experience through the contact form.
  2. Review. Our editors check fit, originality and reader value, usually within five business days.
  3. Draft. Once approved, send the full article (Google Doc or Word file) within the agreed timeframe.
  4. Edit and fact-check. We may edit for accuracy, clarity, length and style, and we'll ask you about anything we can't verify.
  5. Publish and share. We publish, notify you and keep the article updated over time.
